Poggio Salvi: Farm in the heart of Tuscany

Poggio Salvi was founded in 2004 to promote the marketing of wines produced directly in the family business in Sovicille, rented in Montepulciano and in other companies with which it has entered into partnership agreements. Mrs. Bicchi Laura, a profound connoisseur of the sector, thus continues the family tradition which, uninterruptedly since 1872, has always been dedicated with commitment to wine production, managing the business directly, with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but keeping constant and respect for traditions and for the territory unchanged.

Wine production

Tradition, passion and intuition were the driving qualities that led Poggio Salvi to establish itself on international markets as a synonym for quality wines. Every vintage, every terrain, every idea that you want to put into action is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher qualitative margins.

The production of most of the Poggio Salvi wines takes place in the Poggio Salvi farm, a historical heritage of the family, located in the heart of Tuscany about 11 kilometers south-west of Siena, in the Municipality of Sovicille in the province of Siena, on the slopes of a gentle hill 280 meters above sea level Other wines are produced in Montepulciano and in Manciano in Maremma, in the Province of Grosseto.

The Cellar

Poggio Salvi uses the winery of the Poggio Salvi farm in Sovicille for everything related to packaging, order preparation and shipments. The following wines are made in our cellar: CAMPO DEL BOSCO IGT TOSCANO, CHIANTI COLLI SENESI DOCG, CHIANTI RISERVA DOCG VAL DI MERSE, CHIANTI DOC VAL DI MERSE, BARONTOLI IGT TOSCANO, VIN SANTO DEL CHIANTI DOC, REFOLA VERMENTINO TOSCANO and MORELLINO DI SCANSANO DOCG I BUTTERI, having been granted an exemption for the bottling of this wine outside the area. As for the WINE NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO and the ROSSO DI MONTEPULCIANO, the vinification and bottling is compulsory in Montepulciano
